Book Fair Thank You!!
Book Fairs are a great way to get everyone excited about reading. I would like to extend a huge thank you to our Explorer parents and students for helping to make the Scholastic Book Fair a success! Due to your generous support we earned $2,874.31 in Scholastic Dollars to spend toward the purchase of new reading material for the library.

Parents of the Green Bus,

This afternoon the bus was late and departed the school campus at 4:55 p.m.  During the course of the ride home student behavior escalated and the bus driver determined that it was unsafe for him to continue to drive the route. He pulled over to the side of the road.  A Sherriff in the area noticed the bus and stopped to investigate the situation.  Students did not follow the directions of the Sherriff to bring order to the bus and the Transportation Office was contacted.  It was determined that the bus should return to the school.  The bus was escorted back to the school campus.  Transportation sent a second bus to the school and the students were divided between the two buses and the buses departed campus at 6:30 p.m.

Due to the limited number of staff on campus at the time, one person was answering calls, verifying student locations, while Administration was assessing the student behaviors and the situation, speaking with parents on campus and maintaining a safe and orderly environment, and this meant that we were not able to make contact with all parents about the situation.  Please know that the safety and well being of our students is always our priority.

Please call the school tomorrow and speak with me, Mrs. Graf, Principal or Ms. Merritt, Assistant Principal regarding any questions you may have.  Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.  Please be assured that the procedures for incidents such as this will be reviewed and an update will be provided to you.

Thank you, Mrs. Graf
